Hiro Minegishi – stop-motion animator, started work on “Domo” in 1998. Since then, he has been forming tag team with Goda on “Komaneko” series and “Makuma-kun” series and more.

The Kotatsu Japanese Animation Festival starts on September 29th at Chapter Arts in Cardiff with the opening ceremony where festival director Eiko Meredith will introduce Wales to a selection of some of the best animated films to come from Japan over the course of the last year.

This animation makes full use of the “neo-craft animation” technique of combining stop-motion animation with CGI. In the port town of “Y” (modelled on Yokohama), a piece of red brick in a western-styled building has been looking down on the town for 100 years. One day it finally slipped away from the building.

Various goods and a book signed by Yuichi Ito. Yuichi Ito is an award-winning animator and a professor in the department of animation at Tokyo National University of Arts Graduate School. His work spans TV animation, commercials, and music videos.
Cardiff Central Library will be hosting Japan Day to celebrate Japanese Culture and Literature on 27th May. Japan Day is organized in partnership with local Japanese community members.
Lots of activities for all such as Calligraphy, Origami, Manga and Kimono Fashion Show, and much more.
